      Victor Jaramillo

      Education

      Victor received his Bachelor Degree in 2006, from University of Antioquia (Colombia), in Mechanical Engineering. In 2007 he moved to Spain, where in 2009, he received his M. Sc. in Mechatronics from University of Castillla-La Mancha. After his Master studies he continued with the Ph.D., in the same University, working on vibration control of flexible manipulators, topic in which he expects to receive his Doctor degree by 2014.

       

      Work experience

      Before starting his postgraduate studies, Victor had the opportunity to work in a couple of Multi-national companies with branch offices in Colombia. The first one, located in Medellín, was Festo, a german industrial automation company mainly focused in pneumatics. There Victor work as a Support engineer, performing design (mechanical, pneumatic and electric) tasks for custom industrial automation projects. After working in Festo, Victor moved to Bogotá, where he worked in TIPIEL a branch of the french group TECHNIP, specialized in Project Engineering for the Oil & Gas industry. In TIPIEL, Victor worked as a Material Specialist Engineer in the piping department.

      Currently, Victor is part of the Control & Optimization group in the ABB Corporate Research Poland. There he works as an Associated Scientist researching on the fields of Plant Life Cycle Optimization, specifically Condition Monitoring of Rotating Machinery, under the supervision of Dr. James Ottewill.
