Education

Esperanza received her M.Sc. Eng. degree in Energy Engineering from University of Oviedo (Spain) in 2011. Previously, she graduated as Chemical Engineer with specialization in Materials Science from University of Oviedo (Spain). She also holds the title of Quality Management & Health, Safety and Environment Expert (ISO9001 / ISO14001)

Work experience

Internship in BASF- The Chemical Company (Germany, May 2012 -Dec 2012), at the Chemical and Process Engineering Department- Fluid Dynamics, with the topic: “Modelling of the mixing kinetics of solid flows using Discrete Element Method (DEM)”

 

Tutor of PAU candidates (PAU = University Access Test), in teaching Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at “Angel Study Center” in Aviles (Spain, Sep 2006 – Jul 2009).

Currently Esperanza is employed by Imperial College London as Early Stage Researcher. Moreover, she is a PhD student at the same institution, under the supervision of Prof. Ricardo Martinez-Botas and the co-supervision of Prof. Nina  Thornhill. The topic of her research is: “ Aerodynamic impact of fouling in centrifugal compressors”.
